2022 - May Update - Looking to the future - Website Changes & Youtube
Hello there folks, it's been a long while since I sat at the keyboard to write anything but today Is time to make some changes. I often work very long days ( sometimes 12+ hours ) and at times find it hard to muster the energy to sit down and compose even a fraction of the things Id like to write about. My " At The Bench " posts were started with the intention of adding several weekly posts about the watches I work on to those who held an interest in watches & horology. Over the years I have received some amazing feedback from readers and customers about how they enjoy the posts and the information I've added. I do plan to come back to writing more " At The Bench " posts but perhaps making them a little more concise and with less frequency than I originally had planned.
Much of the information we consume these days comes in the form of videos and this is why I set up the Welwyn Watches YouTube Channel, since its conception the community has been most kind and the channel is starting to gain interest. I've heard a lot of awesome feedback from viewers and customers alike and so this is one area of Welwyn Watches I'm looking to nurture further. As mentioned I do intend to continue with writing blog posts but now with such an interest in videos I am looking to make video versions of " At The Bench ". The testing phase for how this will work ( cameras, angles, editing etc ) is currently underway but I'm quite excited to see where this goes and hopefully share some great content for you all to enjoy.
So without boring you all too much, below I have a summary of some of the future plans for this website & the content I'm looking to produce.
You Tube
" At The Bench " Video Series - A narrated video series showcasing various watches that come in for repair/servicing.
Tools Of The Trade - A new video series planned to show case certain watch tools and their uses as well as a practical guide.
YouTube Shorts - Short videos showing various aspect of daily work, from watches just finished to tools/watches of interest.
+ Much more planned...
Website
The biggest change to the website will be the layout, currently it feels too crowded & unorganized so the website will be having a facelift to make it more user friendly & streamlined.
Watches & Tools For Sale - Yes finally I will be adding a specific page for any watches or tools I have for sale. Whilst I do sell on Ebay and my own store I will have a specific page here for items not listed elsewhere. These items will be direct invoice sale only to help reduce fraud.
If you have stayed around long enough to read this then I thank you, without the support and kind comments I receive this website and YT channel might not exist. So here's to looking forward to the future, I hope to see you all there :)
** Please note this website will be undergoing changes so some pages & info may no longer be available **
