A little bit of everything.....

With such a busy start to the new year ive not had time to do any in depth logs of work lately,  however i thought it would be good to share some short logs in one go of all the latest activity :)

Below were going to go over in brief what has been keeping me away from my blog duties, nothing in depth but a brief outline with some photos ( as we all like a good picture ). Hopefully when things settle down i can come back with something more in depth but for now enjoy >>>

Seiko 7548-700B Divers

This little gem was taken to a local jeweller for a few simple replacements but sadly got damaged in the process due to lack of specific knowledge. The watch had a new bezel insert to be fitted but before that a new  glass had to be found that would fit correctly when fully assembled.

The jeweller had fitted a standard diving glass but when replacing the bezel they damaged the glass retaining ring ( bottom silver ring ). This ring is used to retain the glass against the glass gasket keeping things water tight, unfortunately the wrong glass had caused the ring to bend as it was too thick.

Original glasses for this model are no longer available but i had some NOS Seiko glasses that should fit the bill nicely. With a new parts ready to fit all that was required was to clean up the casing by polishing the sides and case back followed up by a ultrasonic clean and then assembly.

With new double dome glass, new insert, casing cleaned, gasket re seal, and bezel damage corrected the watch was ready to go back into the world for some new life :)

Bulova Day Date ( Rolex Prototype ? )

This lovely Bulova came in just recently and thought id add it here as its certainly a pretty little thing and not often seen these days. The watch required a new screw down crown as the original crown tube was completely gone. With a replacement provided and fitted the watch was ultrasonically cleaned and back to normal once more . Movement ETA 2836-2

Roamer MST 372 - Sweeping Seconds Replacement

Another gem recently finished is this Roamer with a broken sweeping seconds pinion. The watch was keeping good time but a new pinion was needed and duly replaced. Despite efforts to save original seconds hand the tube had oversized and would no longer fit so a new hand was cut to length and fitted. MST Calibre 372 Manual Wind - Roamer Brevet Waterproof Casing

Waltham Vanguard - Pocket Watch

Sent by one of my most regular customers for some TLC is this stunning Waltham Vanguard. With the movement running a little off, a good service was the order of the day as well as a casing polish and clean up. Now complete the watch is keeping good time and ready to be used once more. >>

Tag Heuer Ladies - Bracelet & Bezel Re Finish

As with any watch daily wear & tear can take its toll, so a clean up can really bring back a watch to that like new state. Tag bracelets have unique links which require a bit more effort to finish but taking time to do the job right has its rewards. The bezel had also become very dull and so this was removed, cleaned,  and  then polished to bring it back to its best. >>

Above is a small sample of the work i have been up to this year with many more that i had no time to log. Hopefully when things settle down i can get back to making something more in depth but in the meantime check out my new Youtube channel as more content is planned to be added over the coming months.
